Choosing a baby carrier is one of those decisions that looks straightforward until you're standing in a shop trying to work out which one actually fits, actually washes, and actually works for your body all day. The Flybaby Mokka is Sprout's answer to that problem. A soft-structured carrier from Berlin, built from innovative 3D-knit fabric that moves with you rather than against you. At 425g, it's light enough to forget you're wearing it. Compact enough to fold into a bag. Breathable enough for a South African summer.

Why the ergonomic M-position matters

The M-position places your baby's knees higher than their hips in the natural frog-leg position. This supports healthy hip socket development and distributes your baby's weight through their bottom rather than their spine. It also removes postural load from the wearer's lower back and shoulders, making hours of carrying genuinely comfortable rather than something to push through. The flexible hip belt adjusts from 66 to 127cm and the carrier is suitable from 3.2kg newborn through to 15kg.

    Worth every cent!

    We bought the Flybaby carrier for our friends' baby shower gift. We were obsessed with the beautiful design, colours and magnetic clasps, but had no idea how much we'd live for her daily updates telling us what a lifesaver it's been. One night, after trying everything to settle her 5-week-old, she reached for the Flybaby out of pure desperation. Within minutes, her little girl was asleep. Now we get photos of her napping in the carrier for up to 2.5 hours while mum gets on with her day, and she says it's made such a difference to supporting her back. Knowing you've given your friends something that genuinely helps them every single day (and looks this stylish on both mom and dad) is such a special feeling... highly recommend!

Flexible Shoulder Straps

With a stretchable ribbed structure, the knit of the shoulder area adaps flexibility and distributes the baby's weight evenly without losing it's shape. This protects the back and relieves the muscles. Thus, tensions that can arise from the localised pressure of standard straps have no chance.

Different Zones, Perfect Fit

The manuacturing in 3D knitting technology allows for different zones: a soft hip belt, breathable inserts on the back, a stabilizing structure in the back area for a perfect fit and comfort, with soft padding on the hip belt so that hips are optimally supported in their load bearing role.

The innovative magnetic buckles allow for effortless handling. Their simple design makes them quick and easy to close. These practical buckles are perfect for parents who value convenience and efficiency without compromising on safety.

Yes, the Flybaby baby carrier is designed to be adjustable and suitable for both parents, grandparents, or caregivers. The shoulder straps and hip belt can be easily adjusted to fit different body sizes and shapes.

Our Flybaby Carrier is made from recycled polyester yarn that is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. Polyester offers enormous durability, ease of care, and longevity compared to cotton, linen, and silk. It is shape-retaining, colorfast, and breathable, regulates moisture well, and is hypoallergenic, making it ideal for sensitive baby skin.

Through our special knitting process, we can create a fabric that is both stretchy and supportive, properties that would not be achievable with other fibers. Additionally, we rely on recycled polyester to reduce our environmental impact and produce more sustainably. This material allows for a clean recycling option at the end of its life cycle, thanks to our Cradle-to-Cradle approach without adhesives or harmful materials.

Yes, you can cross the straps on the chest and carry the baby on your back; however, we recommend doing this only from the age of 6 months. Once your child is a bit bigger, the baby carrier can also be used like a backpack.

Yes, theoretically it is possible to carry your child facing forward, but we advise against it. This position can put strain on your baby's hips and spine, and it is exposed to many stimuli, which can lead to overwhelm. A good alternative is carrying on the back, which is recommended only from 6 months onwards.

Yes, our Flybaby carrier was designed to optimally support the seated spread-squat position. The carrier has an adjustable seat area, so your baby sits comfortably and securely in a healthy position. The Flybaby carrier promotes the so-called M-position, where the knees are positioned slightly higher than the bottom, which supports hip development. Our Flybaby carrier is ideal for every season. Thanks to the breathable material and the ventilated back, your baby stays comfortably cool in summer. In winter, the lightweight material ensures that you and your baby do not overheat due to additional winter clothing, and the carrier can also be easily worn under a jacket to provide extra warmth.
